The Mirror

The pivot. AI as diagnostic.

The thesis

AI didn't create the problem. AI exposed what was already broken. The models were fine. Claude is good. GPT is good. Glean is good. The tools worked. The tools still work. The issue is that deploying AI at scale forces answers to questions most organizations have been avoiding for years.

The questions AI forces:

What does "good" mean here? Measured how? By whom? Who decides? Who overrides? Who can pull the plug? How long does that take?

The velocity difference

Human execution

Broken process takes weeks to cause damage. Someone usually notices. Accountable person exists.

Agent execution

Broken process takes seconds. Nobody notices until the audit. Or the counterparty's lawyer. Or the data exfiltration alert.

AI removed the speed governor and kept the broken steering column. The danger was always there — just moving at human speed.

The failures traced back

Every one of these failures traces back to a question that was never asked. Not an AI question. An operating model question.
